Here at Wild Child, we’ve been advising that parents keep their toddlers in their rear-facing car seats as long as possible. We had also advised that parents wait until their child is AT LEAST 1 year AND 20 lbs before turning them into the forward-facing position.

As part of our iCandy line of strollers we also feature the iCandy Cherry Stroller. The Cherry is a great little stroller with a bunch of nice features, but with out a lot of extra weight.
The iCandy Cherry is meant to be a lightweight luxury stroller. Weighing in at about 20lbs it certainly is light. I think the simple frame and foam wheels are key in keeping the weight down. But just because it’s lighter in weight doesn’t mean that you’re giving up on features. What I love about the iCandy Cherry stroller is that you can turn the child seat around so that it’s either facing you or facing outward. I don’t know of any other lighter weight strollers (other than the Bumbleride Flyer) that can do that.

You also have the option of using your car seat with the stroller, by purchasing the car seat adapter. Right now, you can only get car seat adapters for the Maxi Cosi or Graco car seats. Additionally, you may also purchase a bassinet to use on the stroller. In my opinion, the bassinet and car seat compatibility features are big pluses for this stroller!

The Cherry has a generous storage basket under the seat, which allows you store a couple bags easily.
The fold on the Cherry stroller is also easy to manage. You do have to take the seat off to fold it, which isn’t typical of the strollers we carry. However, once you do fold the stroller down, it’s quite compact.

One thing to note is that the iCandy Cherry stroller doesn’t have an adjustable handle bar. To be honest, I would expect that from a stroller like this.
Overall, I think that the iCandy Cherry stroller is a good value, for a lightweight luxury stroller. I love the basket and the reversible seat, so for those features alone I give it two thumbs up.

Both the Britax and Sunshine Kids brands of car seats that we carry are compatible with the LATCH system. But what does LATCH stand for? Lower Anchor and Tethers for CHildren. LATCH has been available in most passenger vehicles since model year 2003 and tether anchors have been available since model year 2000. According to the NHTSA website, “Nearly every car seat and most vehicles manufactured since September 1, 2002, are required to have the LATCH system. LATCH makes it easier to get the child seat in right – the first time and every time.”
