This Saturday, December 4th the “Heart of Arlington” businesses will be hosting a holiday open house! This event is a great way to support local, small businesses, while getting some shopping done, enjoying some refreshments, and potentially winning some great prizes!

To all of our customers,
All of us at Wild Child would like to thank our customers for supporting us as well as other local Arlington small businesses during Small Business Saturday. Many of you were thoughtful enough to ask how the promotion that American Express created was working out and we’re happy to report that it went quite well!

We are also thrilled at how many of you made a specific effort to shop locally. We heard many stories from you about multiple visits to other shops like Derby Farm, Helena’s and Sadie’s and we’re all grateful for your locally focused shopping efforts. As we head into the busy holiday shopping season, we encourage you to share your local shopping experiences with friends in hopes that they too will appreciate the ease of shopping local rather than the stress that the mall encourages.
We will hopefully see many of you again next Saturday when the Heart of Arlington Holiday Open House kicks off at 10am and runs through 8pm. We’ll have more information to follow, but here are a few highlights:
- Wild Child will have free juice boxes and snacks all day, plus you can enter a raffle to win a $50 gift card!
- Chilly Cow will have free hot chocolate and coffee all day.
- Derby Farm will be raffling off a $75 center piece and is giving away free gifts with every purchase of $20 or more.

In addition to rocking to the Ben Rudnick & Friends, It’s Santa Claus! CD we are gettin’ in the Christmas spirit by hosting Santa Claus in the store!!
Start prepping your little ones to tell Santa how they’ve been good this year, because he’ll be visiting the store a few times to say Ho Ho Ho to every little boy and girl!
We’ll also be taking pictures of your kids sitting on Santa’s lap for Free!! (pictures will be emailed out after the event)

A few weeks ago Ben Rudnick of the Ben Rudnick & Friends band stopped into the store. Ben said, ‘do you want to hear my holiday cd? it would be great for the store.” Sure, I’ll listen to almost anything! Not knowing anything about Ben and his band, I popped the CD in started singing along.

This Friday, 10/29 we’ll be reading a couple more books as it’s another installment of the Wild Child Reading Hour! Our Medford street neighbors, The Book Rack, sponsor this event and help us to pick out the books! Huge THANK YOU to them! This is a great event to bring your toddlers and preschoolers to because it’s free and it’s another fun way to get your kids interested in reading.
We’ll be rolling out our reading carpet and on Fridays from 1-2pm, so be sure to stop by and read a couple books with us! We’ll be giving away one of the books we read to a lucky winner!
